1800’s Mother of Pearl Thread Winder (#4)

Measures:  1 1/8”x1 ½”

A beautiful, iridescent thread winder with a pair of lovebirds on the front and a flower on the back.  There are no chips or cracks, there is a darker area on the back – I’m not sure if this is a natural occurrence or caused by use over the years.  It is fairly thick and could be used for it’s intended purpose! This may have been part of a Palais Royal sewing box, made in Paris as they frequently used Mother of Pearl for many of their items.
