1800’s Carved Bone Needle Case with Contents

Measures:  3.25” long

As with all of these carved pieces, I ask “How did they do that?”  This amazing needle case is carved with a gorgeous floral motif with beading on the edge.  Every tiny petal and leaf is in place, there are no cracks or chips that I can see.  There are items inside, but here’s a mystery:  The top is very difficult to move, I haven’t taken it off for fear of injuring the flowers.  It did open a bit for me, but I will leave the reveal to the new owner!  Either way, it’s a stunning item to display among antique sewing notions!
