Partial vintage chess set housed in a rustic wood slide-top box, featuring a woven mat-style panel on the lid and one end. Likely dating from the 1930s to 1950s, the set includes a mix of hand-carved and lathe-turned pieces in light and dark wood. The knights (horses) appear to be individually hand-carved, while the remaining pieces have a classic turned form. The set is incomplete, as shown.

The storage box measures approx. 2.5" tall, 7" long, and 4" wide.  The box is solid but does have a repaired crack on the top near the front as shown in the photos. Pieces show age and wear consistent with years of play and display.
