I thought the umbrella was a needle case!  You just never know at an auction!!  Turns out it is a hiding place for a nail buffer.  There is no damage that I can see, the nail buffer has signs of use and wear but isn’t in bad shape.  The hook shows some discoloration on the metal, the jockey is in fine form.
