1930’s Art Deco Wall Sconce

This is likely an "After Sunset Lightolier" fixture, but the brand tag has been removed.  During the Art Deco period, After Sunset Lightolier produced a range of wall sconces that were very popular for both residential and commercial spaces.  This is an extremely sturdy fixture!  It is made of cast iron and has a muted gilt finish.  The finish is in very good condition and shows few signs of wear.  The geometric design is in line with the Art Deco period.  The socket for the bulb is surrounded by a cardboard tube with faux melting wax to give the appearance of a candle.  There is a push button switch on the base and a pull chain on the inside of the “candle”.  The original cloth covered wiring is still attached to the back.  I would recommend this sconce be solely for display unless refurbished by a qualified professional.
